Brid Anglin from Brent House recently upped the game for Charity of the Year by organising a 5 a side football tournament to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice. The matches, which were held on a very wet October night in Antrim forum each lasted 5 minutes and twelve teams from branches, Brent House and Head Office battled it out for the title of "Champion 5 a side Team."
After an exciting first few matches, the Mighty Network team, who were coincidentally the oldest team in the competition, emerged as strong contenders. The final, a play off against Cash Management saw the Mighty Network team claim victory with a score of 2-0.

Accomplished goalie Jeffrey Harrison managed not to concede a single goal during the tournament while Team member Karl Manning won the prize for highest male goal scorer. Keeping up the side for the ladies was Gail Richie who won the prize for the female highest goal scorer.
The event raised a fantastic £700 for Northern Ireland Children's Hospice, which helps us hugely on the way towards our target. Thanks to all the teams who participated, especially those who travelled from branches and a very big thank you to Brid and her colleagues for organising the event, making things run so smoothly and keeping everyone's spirits up, despite the miserable weather!
